Krebs 2004 - Comparison of two techniques of robot-aided upper limb exercise training after stroke

“Robot-aided exercise can be provided using a variety of treatment paradigms, including passive movements, active assistive exercises, resistive exercises, and bi-manual mirror-image exercises. Some robot-aided exercise protocols have incorporated resistive exercises as a component of a program consisting of several different types of exercise.” Burt® has a PROM function that allows for a clinician to simulate repetitions such as self feeding, brushing teeth, or brushing hair. It also allows for a patient to attempt movements and then be guided into the full ROM passively to achieve greater outcomes.
