Reinkensmeyer 2004 - Robotics, motor learning, and neurologic recovery

“Motor Learning is imperative when we are treating patients that have suffered a neurological event. Using robotics allows us to challenge patients in multiple work spaces to help address cortical relearning. Robots can haptically assess sensorimotor performance, administer training, quantify the amount of training, and improve motor recovery.” Robotics allows a patient to work in multiple quadrants at once, which is how Burt® is addressing high repetitions to improve ADL tasks.
